RTP & House Edge Explained
RTP stands for Return to Player — it is the percentage of all wagered money that a casino game is designed to pay back to players over a very large number of rounds. For example, a slot with 96% RTP will theoretically return ৳96 for every ৳100 wagered across millions of spins. The remaining 4% represents the house edge — the casino's long-run mathematical advantage.
| Game Type | Typical RTP | House Edge |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 92% – 98% | 2% – 8% |
| Blackjack | ~99% | ~1% |
| Roulette (European) | 94% – 97% | 3% – 6% |
| Baccarat (Banker) | ~96% | ~4% |
| Video Poker | ~99% | ~1% |
It is important to understand that RTP is a long-run statistical average, not a guarantee of what you will win in a single session. A slot rated at 96% RTP could deliver a large jackpot or a losing streak in any given session — variance (also called volatility) determines how often wins occur and how large they are. High-volatility slots pay less frequently but with bigger prizes; low-volatility slots pay more often but in smaller amounts.
House edge is the flip side of RTP. A European Roulette wheel has a house edge of 2.7% — meaning over millions of spins the casino keeps 2.7% of all money staked. Understanding house edge helps you make smarter choices: games like Blackjack played with basic strategy and Baccarat Banker bets consistently offer the lowest house edge available in any casino.
At pq999, all slot RTP values are listed in each game's info panel. We only partner with certified providers whose RNG (Random Number Generator) systems are independently audited for fairness. Always check the RTP before you spin — it is one of the most useful numbers a player can know.
